Picking Combo is a musical project exploring the vibrant traditions of Latin American and Afro-Caribbean music. Formed by musicians Yannis Landrin and Stephen Scharmin, the project draws from Cuban Son, Salsa, Cumbia, Bolero, and Timba, & Samba bringing warmth, rhythm, and a festive spirit through intimate performance settings.

Yannis Landrin, a multi-instrumentalist known for projects such as Rayo de Son and Choro Braseiro, performs on 7-string guitar and a Cuban tres, skillfully weaving bass lines and melodies while singing both cult classics as original songs.

Stephen Scharmin, a drummer and percussionist with roots in jazz and Latin traditions, enriches the sound with an inventive percussion approach, creating dynamics that invite audiences on a rhythmic journey inspired by Havana,
Baranquilla, Rio, Cap Verde and beyond.
